A
witness said, “The guards are posted along the coasts. At nights there
are polices everywhere. Moreover, I saw some police patrols on the other
side of Sittwe harbor. Especially, it is an act to stop Rohingyas
entering into the country from the waters.”
“Along
the river near Shew Pyar village, the police and local villagers are
patrolling the area. It is for the security of the village. The electric
lights are on along the river because we can’t just tell the Rohingyas
not to come across the river. We need to patrol the place.” said a
villager.
Right
now the local Rohingyas are placed in Bumay and Thae Chanung. However,
many remain in Kaung Gyi Lan Village and Aung Mingala village.
